At the Wall
March 2011 - Coco Crisp climbs the wall while Josh Willingham backs up the play. The ball (hit by Reds first baseman Joey Votto) landed in the bullpen for a home run.
Crisp leads off for Oakland tonight in the AL Wild Card game, vs. the Royals. Willingham is now a Royal, and is on the playoff roster as a backup outfielder.
May 2013 - Joe Leonard, Paul Janish, and Tyler Pastornicky.
March 2014 - Johnny Cueto’s signature turn on the mound.
Cueto got his 20th win today, not only pitching through the 8th, but hitting the RBI single that proved to be the game winner.
It’s the first time since 1988 that the Reds have had a 20-game winner.
September 2014 - Ross Ohlendorf’s unique wind up.
Ohlendorf was on rehab assignment with the AAA Syracuse Chiefs.
Eric John Hosmer
March 2013 - Eric Hosmer at bat in a spring training game.
Hosmer has been
en fuego lately - just what the Royals need, heading into the postseason.
April 2009 - Phil Hughes on the mound for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees.
Hughes, with the Minnesota Twins this year, fell just one out short of meeting an incentive that would have given him a $500,000 bonus. The Twins offered to give him the money anyway, but he refused to accept it. (!)
Hughes had 186 strikeouts and just 16 walks this season. His 11.6/1 K/BB ratio is the best in MLB history.
2012 - Zach McAllister pitching for the AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees.
McAllister is with the Cleveland Indians now.
Rangers first baseman Prince Fielder at bat.
March 2014 - Reds third baseman Todd Frazier casts a wary eye on the photographer during a spring training game.
March 2013 - Mike McDade fields a popup.
McDade is in the Blue Jays organization this year. That’s the team that originally drafted him.
